Bitcoin been on the verge of climbing new record high peaks of value for the better part of this year, however, throughout the year-long existence it had never seen the $4,000 value-tag until now. Recent price surge has sent the forefather of digital blockchain currencies to a long lead above the alternatives, bringing bitcoin network market capitalization to the record sum of $65 billion but how likely is it that we see $100 billion by the end of this year?

Analyzts Speculations For The Future Price Trends

Earlier this year in June, Goldman Sachs analyst had stated that he sees bitcoin reaching the $4,000 value mark in the next bitcoin price rally and appears as he was right on point with that as BTC traded above four thousand tag on 12th of August. There were much gloom and doom in the price discussions during the looming bitcoin Civil War which resulted in the network forking into two and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) emerging as the alternative.

While many thought that fork will result in loss of trust for the first digital currency ever created then, in reality, fear had much wider eyes than the threat really was. The community has speculated that bitcoin might end up seeing the price go over $5,000 before this year is out but will it actually happen is something that only time will tell us.

Bitcoin Market Capitalization $65 Billion U.S. Dollars

With recent price surge, market capitalization for the main bitcoin blockchain reached $65 billion dollars which brought the overall blockchain currencies market cap to the record high of $130 billion. We can only hope that the blockchain awareness will continue spreading and boosting the value of digital currencies alongside with it.

all the reason more to make 1btc=10k chips so we can degen in the casino and dice again, without it hurting so much and going so fast :P

i think one day it will all be digital but not while all the big banker families are still in control,

but maybe as more and more countries adopt the tech, then a domino effect will happen

Don`t get me wrong I would like bitcoin to replace fiat but I`m trying to be real. Transaction fees are too high already, cheap transactions looks like past. Price is high, and just can be higher, many people will not be able to buy bitcoin. My opinion that bitcoin will be like some precious metal, expensive and rare...
But blockchain is other story, if bitcoin is a precious metal will ETH be the currency for everyday use? ETH is just first that falls on my mind, there is many other coins that can play that role, with cheaper and faster transactions.
There is one more important thing in all this and that is anonymity. In beginning bitcoin was anonymous, but now I`m not sure that that will stay like that in future. Some other altcoins are offering more anonymity then bitcoin now, that will be important to many people for sure.
Bottom line is that blockchain is the future, and many coins will have a place in this future.

LottoLinks: My thoughts on this matter.....
Wed, 08/16/2017 - 19:02

I definitely think bitcoin will be #1 in crypto-currencies and that it'll be most everybody's main go-to. I don't think it'll replace physical currency because of it's fluctuations. It'd be unfair for people to work all week just to be paid way less than they made last week because the price of bitcoin goes down xx amount over the week etc. Another reason I don't think it'll be a solo world-wide currency is because it's not regulated, and I don't really see how it could be. If anything, a government is likely to block bitcoin all in all to better control it's economy - which I think would be a dick move.... I know this much; I am investing in bitcoin. I don't give all of it to you guys..... (=

Wed, 08/16/2017 - 19:46

In it's current form my opinion is that there are too many problems for it to be mass adopted. One of the main issues is ease of use and the fact that it confuses many people who aren't somewhat tech-savvy. There are still folks out there who get confused trying to create a Paypal account let alone trying to wrap their heads around public and private keys, return addresses, wallet options and more. Add on the fact that there is no way to reverse a transaction and it becomes even more problematic for adoption.

However, I do believe all issues can and will be sorted out in the future and crypto is definitely the future. Time will tell.

No government will ever let it come over there currency, why? Because its digital in the end the only thing that will actually matter will be material silver ect... If bitcoin attempts to remove the world currency I would say it will be stopped, but since im sure they know it cant be to good it cant get in the way of country's currencys so it is set up as a stock market so it can have no limit but also can completely collapse, and it will have a recession because it will be necessary just like war is. It will bring riches to some and others will loose millions, would you rather have a bank backing your 250k in usd ect or blockchain that says get hacked ohh sorry for your loss. Bitcoin is popular because it opens up the digital world 100 fold. Exp poker nothing needed to withdraw for real currency id proof of address and the time it usually takes to get your money bitcoin is very fast but most of the world wants money something the can hold put in there wallet give to there kids something digital doesnt have material property's.

REDSCARFACE: Bitcoin to The Stars!
Wed, 08/16/2017 - 22:24

This is going to be kinda long.

I do not see bit coin ever coming to a certain stop. However I do see bit coin going so high at the moment where it will finally even out. As that it is said it will drop most likely half before it starts to even out. I could post a few links as reference, but I'm not sure if that is allowed. Only reason I say this is because I have posted a link before and my reply was deleted. So, as you can look up on goohle, bitcoin is viotole and will not stabilize for some time. Most likely I see the coin finally even out January of next year. We all know Christmas will jack the price up as, holidays are the time of year we buy, gift, and sell coin. Most transactions can possibly be noted on block chain around holidays and scare tactics such as, but not limited to, the stock market possibilities, the adding of a new feature, and US / China currency fluxatuons. This leads me to believe that bit coin is crazy awesome but, when it goes to even out will drop by half fold. Now, there will never be a future coin to ever take out bitcoin. Reason why is, bitcoin will adapt to that technology and most likely drop a bit till the the features are implemented. Bitcoin is constantly updating and under development. There development team is based on everyone which most are avid investors. It's like this. How hard would you work to see your money increase? Also, to new users, would you try to help develop something if you can make a killing on it? Just two questions that can implement the long survival of bitcoin. Also, how do we not know bitcoin is not the Future? I mean it is already on all cell phones! Possibly, think if we contracted with google, windows, and iphone. That would lead to businesses accepting bitcoin. We already have a bunch of atm to pull money out for bitcoin if needed. I love in Columbus, Ohio and we have 4 of them. Easy peeasy they say!! I love bitcoin and I hope it takes us to the stars! Maybe even someday when we have future bases in the universe, we can make stops to the next space station to by a drink or a...! High hopes and dreams which anything is possible! As we already have movies and TV shows advertising/ talking about bitcoin, more to come!

I would love to win the tickets as I putt a lot of reading and effort in to this. Also, I write articles for a few forums and 1 being a gambling site on bitcoin. So, if you would like to read some of my articles I wrote, I would love to share! Ask me in chat sometime!

DoubleT: This is the future
Wed, 08/16/2017 - 23:00

In my opinion blockchain is the next big thing. For few of us it is already here, but still long way to go. Blockchain based government issued documents is already happening. I am waiting when the human genome comes to play. Then the shit is gonna get real. But for now we have to work with blockchain which is the best You can have at the moment. Only need to prepare for qunatum solving which might bring some of stuff to the knees. But those of us who have been one step ahead of time before know what to prepare to. Viva la crypto!

The Constitution gives Congress — and only Congress — the authority to print and coin money. It does not give it the power to hand that authority off to any other agency or individual. Thus, the very existence of the Fed is un-Constitutional. However BTC and Blockchain technology, As well as other cryptos Give us a diverse bright future with alternatives. Currently actual paper currency if rarely used, With direct deposit, online options and vending machines that accept debit/credit cards, isn't paper currency already obsolete, optional, retro?

jramy: It is just time
Fri, 08/18/2017 - 16:57

Blockchain is literally the future in the present time. It's just a brilliant concept and will be implemented everywhere in the future and will be a standard in every country/business.

How likely it is for a country to ditch paper money for digital? In my opinion not very likely and would only happen in the most outstanding cases. It's just not likely governments wouldn't like it, unreasonably paranoid people won't like it. Bitcoin is a fore-runner on this front and provides the media with the best spot on this and gives them the bare minimum of what is requires.

Those people who believe bitcoin is a bubble clearly live in a bubble of their own and not opening their eyes to see the future. Blockchain provides everybody with everything digitizing is the future and not everything you can touch.

Fri, 08/18/2017 - 23:41

I think it's possible that bitcoin or other crypto currency can become the standard go to currency, but it will take at least 50 years and the price has to be very stable for at least 20 years. I think the biggest problem are the huge swings and only gamblers are willing to invest in it.

Sat, 08/19/2017 - 01:02

For sure we'll more away from paper currency eventually. We already started to a long time ago, with credit/debit cards. I doubt it'll be bitcoin or anything available now, and I think it's far off like at least 20-30 years before we even see the slow shift. it doesn't make sense to print money forever.

BluffingYou: It is not possible (at least
Sat, 08/19/2017 - 09:48

It is not possible (at least for next few decades) to replace the real money with Bitcoin. If at any level, Bitcoin replaces the real money, more units will come into play. But consider bitcoin as a fun currency for trading which provides the luxury of purchasing goods as well.

minmin88: It true
Sat, 08/19/2017 - 12:58

I think blockchain technology can completely dominate in the future. However, currency notes are hard to replace, but are increasingly limited to electronic money. Although said, but also depends on the government, policies ... Electronic currencies need funds in the world's major banks, creating customer confidence in the future.

trump2017: My input on the matter
Sat, 08/19/2017 - 14:23

I do not see bitcoin ever replacing our main currency. I just do not think the gov would ever allow it. But I do see all paper currency lose its value sooner and later and then I think they will adopt some form of digital currency, I just don't think it will be bitcoin.

mafiax617: Bitcoin isn't the answer
Sat, 08/19/2017 - 17:01

Bitcoin is killing itself with high transfer fees and a clogged up mempool. I want to withdraw from this site and buy some alt coin, but I'm afraid of my transaction being stuck for days or weeks.

I think cryptocurrency is here to stay, but bitcoin is not the be all end all.

joicypoltas: A unique opinion from joicy
Sat, 08/19/2017 - 22:15

A unique opinion from joicy side is it doesn't matter that gov doesn't allow this currencie in paper or physic it,s always captured all kind of online business market.
Or we can say bitcoin are made for generation z not for gov policies nor for corrupt leadership but for us.
Example I done MBA in finance and govt doesn't give us any type of priority. So I can generated bitcoin virtually like from and fulfill needs, so advise to generation z that follow bitcoin until they touch the limited sky.

Wed, 08/23/2017 - 18:37

Yeah, I think this is a difficult question to answer. If currency was based off cocaine,

wouldn't the powder be valuable and not the paper? ;0
Since the 16th century or so, humans have used metals as means of exchange, mainly copper, gold, silver, etc...
therefore, I'd say based on the past, it's unlikely to see much change in this realm unless there was a paradigm shift that rendered these ways of transacting useless.
Anyone that's knee deep in the dope game like myself knows the feeling of getting robbed and then watching the perpetrator kick some knowledge back to you, or maybe talk like an alien or something, without giving you your shit.
Are there large groups of people that are not tied to normal means of commerce such as - "I gave you ten dollars, now give me a rock" .... ?
An old man once told me, the only benefit out of money is that you get to see it. Well I don't know about you but I like to see money, so money is probably not going anywhere but it's also vastly over valued, in my opinion - absent of adequate big picture data, such as what REDSCARFACE outlined in his (or her) post(s).

Thank you.

plo8monster: The big picture just gets bigger
Tue, 10/03/2017 - 07:48

When do frogs realize they are being boiled.
Underestimate the fractal effect of of crypto currency is to miss the picture.
The Banks are late to the party, but the vast majority of all money is just digits on computers, in a current banking system which works like damns and levees.
It is all about the flow, the current of currency. Blockchain technology will morph just like the cell phone morphed as it became more and more mainstream..
The cell phone started as a vehicle for mobile decentralized communication and the blockchain technologies began as a glass ledger to mobilize and decentralize currency.
The pattern is fractal in nature. Because the technology is suited for the smallest and the largest transactions equally and perpetually.
What started as a trickle becomes a brook becomes a stream becomes a river that carves its own path of least resistance, Make no mistake it will gain speed..
100 Billion by 2018 is a reach but cellphones that were once the size of a suitcase are now hand help computers, and pc's once had 640 kilobytes of memory.
This transition could happen much faster than any of us expect.
The longer i live the more obvious it is that technology is gaining speed.
