This is the right thing to do and i suggest going by poker players vip level and points toward calculating the totals of bbj to be dispersed.

EyeWonBTC: VIP level has nothing to do with distributing the BBJ fairly
Thu, 12/28/2017 - 02:47

You could get to any level and never contribute anything to the BBJ.

What needs to be done is:

Divide each player's total SP earned from ring games played by the total SP earned by all players in ring games. Then multiply that % by the total BBJ.

SickMetaGame: That's not entirely right...
Thu, 12/28/2017 - 02:52

Bad Beat Jackpot was in 3 tiers, so lower limits of games contributed a smaller amount (with respect to the BB of the limit) than higher limits.

And then bad beat jackpot was once hit at nl2 which means that people who put in volume at those BBJ tier stakes until the hit have nothing to gain because it was paid out.

It doesn't affect higher limits though. I would want to hope that back end shows it per player already not that it has to be calculated out.

I originally wanted to say what I did OR add up all rake paid and work the %'s. However, I just looked here: https://www.betcoin.ag/support/what-are-rules-bad-beat-jackpot

According to the chart there and the Stake payout structure, no matter what stakes you were playing, you paid a .01 chip fee for the BBJ. I don't see anything about any 3 tiers. We must go by the rules stated now.

I totally overlooked the fact that the BBJ was hit. You are completely correct and either SP's or rake paid need to be added up AFTER the BBJ hit.

Was slightly misleading, I thought I had remember this 0.01 BB thing from pokertracker records.

So pulled up some hands and it looks like 0.01 BB (big blind) was collected from each player seeing the flop. Which basically works out like you contribute 0.0025 at nl25 and 0.01 at nl100

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) SickMetaGame has Ac As
fold, fold, fold, fold, etParis calls 1 BB, SickMetaGame raises to 5 BB, fold, fold, etParis calls 4 BB

Flop : (11.5 BB, 2 players) 4s 7c 3d
etParis bets 11.2 BB, SickMetaGame raises to 116.22 BB and is all-in, etParis calls 105.02 BB

Turn : (243.94 BB, 2 players) Kd

River : (243.94 BB, 2 players) 2s

etParis shows 7h 7s (Three of a Kind, Sevens)
(Pre 20%, Flop 89%, Turn 95%)

SickMetaGame shows Ac As (One Pair, Aces)
(Pre 80%, Flop 11%, Turn 5%)

etParis wins 239.92 BB
0.02 BB was deducted from the pot for the jackpot.

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) SickMetaGame has 7s Ks
ungod calls 1 BB, fold, fold, Thames calls 1 BB, Drizzy calls 0.6 BB, SickMetaGame checks

Flop : (4 BB, 4 players) 5d Jc 6s
Drizzy checks, SickMetaGame checks, ungod checks, Thames bets 3.88 BB, fold, SickMetaGame calls 3.88 BB, ungod calls 3.88 BB

Turn : (15.64 BB, 3 players) Kd
SickMetaGame bets 10.16 BB, ungod calls 10.16 BB, fold

River : (35.96 BB, 2 players) Kh
SickMetaGame bets 23.36 BB, ungod raises to 70.08 BB, SickMetaGame calls 46.72 BB

SickMetaGame shows 7s Ks (Three of a Kind, Kings)
(Pre 65%, Flop 22%, Turn 17%)

ungod shows 5s Kc (Full House, Kings full of Fives)
(Pre 35%, Flop 78%, Turn 83%)

ungod wins 171.68 BB
0.04 BB was deducted from the pot for the jackpot.

/lol michigan1 yea calculate status points that are given daily in surprise box to the bad beat jackpot total distribution amount that is collected based on each pot played.

In your case, I wouldn't expect to see too many chips considering that you have a few thousand dollars in WPN buy in's to even out in this same stretch or did you think that your 14 chips covered you signing up for every game on the schedule and then firing multiple bullets in the games that you were in? My bad if so.

Holy shit this is amazing news. i agree with michigan1 on this too. May be easiest for Betcoin to use reward levels as a basis of distribution of coin. I have a minor in mathematics and can help here (volunteering) if needed, in any way.

Double Thanks to Betcoin as this may be a little thing to Betcoin but a rather big thing to the individual players. :)

fallenhigh: distributing this off vip status would be a horrible mistake
Mon, 01/01/2018 - 20:44

as the majority of the players here, mostly just played the tournaments, there was at most for the entire life of this site 100 people that played the cash tables on a regular/semi regular basis. Not to mention that casino play contributes to vip status as well. Pantz no site in there right mind will work with you towards anything.

First and foremost I am happy to see that Betcoin is doing the right thing and paying the BBJ. Prior to the issues of the last 6 months I was a happy long time customer of Betcoin and am hopeful that this is a sign of a turnaround to the way that Betcoin was when I first joined.

Also my account ThatsMean is blocked for speaking out about the handling of the last couple of weeks. If you guys could please unban my account so that I would use it I would appreciate it. Your ban has been lifted.. we understand emotions were at an all time high during this past week. However, we hope players will understand that our tolerance level for chat or forum abuse will be much lower moving forward.
I do not mean this to be ugly in anyway, and we hope players will understand why it is necessary. Most agree that it has been a problem and would like to see a kinder gentler chat room and forum.

REDSCARFACE: Left Over Poker Tickets
Thu, 12/28/2017 - 21:13

I like that we are going to get some chips for our play in the bad beat but i truly think we should also get a small amount of chips for our left over tickets for entries in to poker tourneys. I have a good amount of tickets not used because i usually only play cash games late night early mornings. I wasn't able to make most the tourneys because of my children and work. I honestly think those of us left with tickets should get a chip a piece or a few hips per ticket.

SickMetaGame: BBJ Distribution Nutshell...
Fri, 12/29/2017 - 13:39

There have been quite a few players asking in chat how big of a BBJ distribution payout should they expect, figured to nutshell it up for everybody and perhaps save a few people too big of a disappointment because as it appears then some players are expecting to see much bigger share than they actually worked for.

Bad Beat Jackpot fee was collected from every player seeing the FLOP at the rate of 0.01 BB (big blind)

This means that higher limits players contributed a bigger amount to the bad beat jackpot in respect to their blind. Someone could have played 10 lower amount of hands at nl200 and contribute more money than someone playing nl2 for the longer amount of time.

BBJ collection per limit 1000 hands:

nl2 (0.01/0.02) - 0.20 chips
nl4 (0.02/0.04) - 0.40 chips
nl10 (0.05/0.10) - 1 chip
nl25 (0.10/0.25) - 2.5 chips
nl50 (0.25/0.50) - 5 chips
nl100 (0.50/1) - 10 chips
nl200 (1/2) - 20 chips
nl400 (2/4) - 40 chips
nl600 (3/6) - 60 chips
nl800 (4/8) - 80 chips
nl1000 (5/10) - 100 chips
ETC

Heads-UP and PLO tables were not included in the Bad Beat Jackpot, if you put in most of your volume at these tables then your BBJ payout is not going to be too significant. This is not hands played rate but actually hands where player stayed in the hand until the FLOP.

Fri, 12/29/2017 - 17:12

sometimes i have mixed feelings about this site and i'm sure there are alot of opinions... but thats with every thing and everyone you do good and most people only see the bad. i have made more statements i regret now then before the lack of concern for player security still bothers me and i think thats why you're out of wpn i'm not 100% sure just from the bits i got from chat

but i honestly couldn't see any other site doing anything like this...
you're going to have it rough losing poker and a portion of players and having to rebuild and giving 800,000 or so back to the players especially when it was in your tos that you didn't have to.

i respect your honesty about this.

HugzNKissez: I'll really miss this site.
Sat, 12/30/2017 - 00:49

I'll really miss this site. Been playing cash on here for years. There are like 100 of us tops. Tourney players SHOULD NOT be included in the split. I can think of a dozen cash players off the top of my head that deserve a huge cut of that bad beat. I feel like some of us kept the entire cash game side alive by playing on here day in and day out. Betcoin is doing the right thing by splitting up the BBJ nut how they do it is super important. It's vital that they take time played at the cash tables into consideration.
