SickMetaGame shares thoughts on Social Poker, available globally at Betcoin

Hey there, SickMetaGame here, and today, I am going to be reviewing Betcoin's Social Poker. Poker was the main reason I joined in 2014, and it was bittersweet to see it go. Luckily, it is back now, and I cannot wait for the action to ramp up.

General Feedback & Settings Overview

I've been at the tables daily since the re-launch. And I am happy to report that there aren't too many things to complain about. To my surprise, this browser-based interface is rather smooth, and it enables players to tile, cascade, or customize table positions on your screen just like an app. I'd love to see a few additional settings added for a better multi-tabling experience, like "sit out all" and also "auto-decline" for running it twice.

Another quite neat feature is the customizable rates slider in the settings, it gives you a way to pre-determine your bet sizings with custom values. Browser-based poker applications are known to be notoriously bad as far as the modification options go, so I am giving Betcoin a lot of props for it.

Table Themes

Betcoin did not leave us hanging with just one generic table theme and brought out 6 different felt & background color choices. As well as, two unique 2-color and two 4-color front decks, with four alternative back decks. My personal favorite theme is the purple felt and the full 4-color deck with an orange back.

Game Selection

Now, let's get straight to the meat. As far as game selection goes, then Betcoin has a table for all limits and styles of players, they just need to grab a seat. Cash games big blind start from two cents and cap at twenty bucks. The table selection includes classic Texas Hold 'em, Omaha, and Omaha hi-lo from regular to "all-in or fold" to "rabbit hunting" mode - which allows players to pay to see the remaining run out of the board after folding. I cannot bring myself to enjoy rabbit hunting tables at all because they slow down the hands-per-hour rate by almost double the speed, making the rotations delayed and somewhat boring.

The cheapest game is free with a 10 PBR guaranteed prize, which is the nightly "Boxer Rebellion" tourney. I've had the privilege of hanging up a few of those champion belts on my wall already, this freeroll runs at 8 PM ET. After which comes the $0.55 PBR 10 GTD multi-table tournament starting at 1 PM ET. But that's not all, Betcoin.Social also features a $1.10 - 25 PBR, $2.75 - 50 PBR, $5.50 - 100 PBR hyper, $27.50 - 500 PBR, and $54 - 1000 PBR guaranteed tourneys! I would love to see some satellites for the higher buy-in games, and more of the cheaper ones on the schedule throughout the day. Freeroll requires 2 players to start, $0.55 requires 5 players to start, and the rest of the games 10 players.

One of my favorite games is the heads-up sit and go, which Betcoin social poker also offers under SNG's tab. There's no better way to duke it out than in a heads-up sit and go because your opponents cannot leave after hitting one lucky hand unless they get your full stack! I'm waiting for Betcoin to add higher buy-ins besides the current $2.20. Kick it up for the boys!

Bonuses, Rewards and Promotions

At the time of my writing of this review, Betcoin.Social poker has not yet rolled out any special bonuses, rewards, or promotions. I hope to see some nice rakeback structure in the future, as well as deposit bonuses, and some sort of leaderboard races, perhaps a monthly tournament series with additional top 10 prizes based on points earned throughout it.

I am currently uncertain whether Betcoin.Social Poker is going to distribute affiliate revenue because there hasn't been an official statement on that yet, but that could be because it is still in development for now.

Free PBR: Top-up Claim & Surprise Box

If you are out of coin, then not all hope is lost because of Betcoin.Social Poker making a way for you to get in the game for free. As long as your PBR balance is below 1, you can replenish it by claiming $1 free PBR with the top-up feature once every 12 hours. The claim option is accessible through your wallet after selecting social balance. You could also get lucky by receiving PBR as one of the surprise box gifts, which is claimable every 4 hours, all day long!

That's a lot of value with 0 risk involved. It only takes a chip and a chair to win, and if you are lucky to beat the variance at the beginning of your session, the sky is the limit.
